I could say just got back from a six-month road trip in my new car, “I wish” but in reality I have just been taking some “blogging down time”
Recent media exposure about sexual assault towards people with disabilities is a good reason to start commentating again.
Yes we know it’s disgusting & wrong, let’s hope that there is a National enquiry across the whole sector.
The extremely sad thing is, no one knows about the person with disability that was sexual assault last night…….
A quick update on what’s been keeping me busy.
- Ongoing involvement as an independent panellist on interview panels with the NDIA
- Proudly the VALID Peer Support to Buy Support groups continue to grow with new ones been created in the Barwon Region (Geelong) thanks to funding from the NDIA to VALID
- I have recently stepped down as a board member from the EW Tipping Foundation/Vista and now working as a Project Officer two days a week focusing on spreading the word about the services they offer to people with disabilities and their families.
- Not disability related, but I am also volunteering as an English tutor at Holmesglen, and loving it.
I will continue to “Commentate” via my blog but the frequency will depend on topics that I believe are important to get out there.
