A Sad Loss to Disability Advocacy in Victoria

This week I would like to dedicate my post to a friend, advocate and a leader within the disability sector in Victoria, who passed away last Thursday 14th April 2011 at the age of 61.

Brenda GabeWhen entering a room full of people, Brenda Gabe’s warmth & sincere smile always demanded your attention.

I trust people who knew Brenda will agree with me when I say that she exceeded in her role as a leader and an advocate for people with disabilities.

Her positive attitude linked with her pleasant nature, are two reasons why she was so highly regarded by so many people.

A quote from Women with Disabilities Victoria

Brenda, who inspired us all with her dynamism, generosity and enormous zest for life. Brenda was a member of the Board of Women with Disabilities Victoria and our representative on the Victorian Disability Advocacy Network. She contributed with great warmth and generosity both personally and through the breadth of her skill and knowledge

    Sorry for your loss!
There are not enough people with a disability who speak up for their rights and those who do, are either running out of energy or life. Who will fill the void as our existance is continually eroded by economic rationalism?

  2. It was a awe-inspiring post and it has a significant meaning and thanks for sharing the information.Would love to read your next post too……
    Thanks
