We continually hear “there is not enough enough money going into the disability sector”….
What we do know is that we currently have grants coming out of our grants from the Government.
So let’s keepe track and follow the progress of some of these grants.
In my view a very good example of this is….
The Legal Services Board Victoria has awarded approximately $2.1 million in funding to 10 major grants recipients in the 2012 Major Grants Round.
Scope (Vic) received $250,000 – Supported Decision-Making and Guardianship Building Capacity within Victoria.
This project will research the decision-making needs of people with various cognitive disabilities who are likely to find themselves at VCAT for a Guardianship hearing.
This project will test and refine the new Supported Decision Making (SDM) model proposed in the revision of the Guardianship Act.
It will develop and test practical resources to support best practice SDM, and develop SDM protocols for the relevant parties.
Finally, the project will actively promote the research findings, resources and protocols to the range of interested parties
